SMS for Bank and Credit Card PIN

If you do not have Bank or Credit Card PIN or have forgotten it, you can create a new one by sending a text message from your registered mobile phone number to 5000.

You can use the SMS Banking Service to create your Bank or Credit Card PIN via SMS. Have your new PIN delivered right to your phone!

Bank and Credit Card PIN

To get a new PIN for your Bank or Credit Card or to change your existing PIN, go to the SMS (Short Message) menu on your mobile phone and type SIFRE followed by a space, the last 6 digits of your card, a space, the first 2 digits of the CVV, a space, the first 2 letters of your mother's maiden name, a space, and your new 4-digit PIN. Send this message to 5000 to instantly create your PIN.
For example: "PIN 123456 98 AK 4567"

*For the security of your cards and accounts, the system will block any PINs starting with 19xx.

NOTE: There is no charge for SMS sent by Kıbrıs İktisat Bankası Ltd. However, standard SMS charges from your mobile carrier will apply for messages you send.

If your mobile number is not registered with Kıbrıs İktisat Bankası Ltd., you can update it at the nearest branch.

FAQs About PINs

Will my old card and PIN remain valid when I receive a new credit card?
As soon as you receive your new CardPlus credit card, you must create a new PIN for it. Once you set your new PIN, the new credit card will be activated, and your old card will automatically be deactivated.

Should the primary card's PIN be created first?
Supplementary cards work in connection with the primary card, so you must create the PIN for the primary card first. Once the primary card's PIN is created, you can set up PINs for supplementary cards using the same method.

When you create a PIN for your renewed CardPlus credit card, your old credit card will no longer be usable. Don’t forget to set up PINs for any supplementary cards sent with your new CardPlus credit card.

How do I use my PIN for purchases?
Chip & PIN is a right system that provides protection against fraud and is easy to use. When you make a purchase with your credit card, the cashier will insert your chip card into the POS machine and ask you to enter your PIN. After checking the transaction amount, enter your 4-digit PIN and press "Enter" to confirm the payment.

Since your PIN is private, it won’t appear on the screen. Instead, stars representing each digit will be displayed. If you make a mistake while entering your PIN, press "Clear" and re-enter it. The screen will notify you once the payment is processed. After approval, the POS machine will provide a receipt.
